A celebration of light, love and the beach.
Project Overview
96° in the shade.
In 2003, after a decade of documenting the rise of west coast rap music in my native Los Angeles, I moved to Miami Beach and began making photographs of the beautiful people I met – surfers, celebrities, waiters, models, strangers and friends. When I wasn't doing client work, I roamed the beaches from the Sagamore Hotel to south of Fifth nearly every day, getting to know the people who made this beach their temple – and who graciously allowed me to make photographs with them. From thousands of frames made between 2003 - 2007, I’ve curated a selection of 100 of the most beautiful images for this very first retrospective of my career. I'm excited to make these works available as NFTs with the provenance offered by the blockchain including value-adds like airdrops and physicals we will make available to collectors. A lot of ideas are being discussed to support the collection and we welcome and value input from our collectors. All NFTs are 1/1 unless noted and all works are listed on the primary market at 0.25 ETH to be affordable and support the growth of a secondary market.
This is a story about light, love and the beach.

Latest Update.
Saturday, Aug 7, we released the first 10 works from the show as a preview to show friends, other artists and collectors. Our initial plan was to roll this out over a 30-day period, but the overwhelming enthusiasm for the project pushed us into overdrive and we managed, albeit somewhat chaotically, to release the entire 100 work retrospective in just three days. Each day collectors bought everything we listed. To our astonishment and delight the collection sold out completely. 💥🔥🌪🌈☀️

So what’s next?
My overarching goal is to bring more attention to this retrospective, a labor of love that represents a seminal time in my journey as a photographer. I’m so grateful to have you join me.
I’m committed to growing relationships with every collector and endeavor to build community around the project to increase its visibility and share some of the stories of the people that were part of the making of these photographs.
